Who we are
Nautical Chartered Accountants (Pty) Ltd (“Nautical”, “we”) is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, business name, the services you are interested in and any message you send. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To onboard you as a client if you choose to engage us, including verification required by the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
- To meet our legal and professional obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, our email provider and the form service that delivers website forms) and with authorities such as SARS or CIPC when acting on your instruction or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted within 12 months. Client records are retained for the periods required by tax and company legislation.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing, by emailing nauticalcasa@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
Your information is treated as confidential and is available only to the people working on your file. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Documents you send us by email are kept with your client file.
Forms on this website
Information you submit through forms on this website is delivered to us by a secure form service, which may process it outside South Africa. By submitting a form you consent to this transfer for the purpose of responding to you. We do not ask for bank details or passwords through website forms. Banking details are requested by email, as a bank confirmation letter.
